Picturing Peace #12

Hi my name is Jordan, I took this picture for Picturing Peace because the kids were drawing a peace symbol and it’s really positive and they coexist better together while they are doing group activities and I just wanted to capture that moment.

I am an artist and I am 13.  I live in Edina and I draw.  I have 2 favorite fruits – apples and carrots. I love the movie Don’t Be a (Menace).   You can view this photo on a utility box here in downtown Minneapolis.

Picturing Peace #11

I’m Jerrell. I’m 16 and I like to sing love songs.  During my free time, I like to play video games, basketball, football, read romantic books and sing love songs.  The reason I joined photovoice was my interest in taking pictures.  I love singing more than taking pictures but I have a passion for both.  I’ll take pictures of a heart warming scenery. I took this picture for Picturing Peace because this picture actually shows unity, as one, where many different hands go into one circle, or you know, just one place, and it just shows that we all come together for something we believe in.   You can view this photo on a utility box here in downtown Minneapolis.

My name is Jerrell and I took this picture for Picturing Peace because these kids are really what an example of friendship should look like. We really shouldn’t be out here hating on one another we should actually just be like these kids. If we can’t be friends, then what are we, really. I mean, these kids right here, they look better than us nowadays. They look better than the teenagers, adults, everybody. Why aren’t they the ones that we should look up to   You can view this photo on a utility box here in downtown Minneapolis.

I took this picture for Picturing Peace because this is what everybody should be doing nowadays. We should be working. This looks like somebody’s working on school work, somebody’s actually trying to learn something. We should actually appreciate school for what they are actually trying to give us, an education which might fulfill our dreams or probably help us out in our lifetime. If this isn’t what’s going to get us through life what will.

I took this picture for Picturing Peace because two kids who barely knew each other were holding hands and it actually shows acceptance of one another, whether it’s black or white or any other race, people know who they are on the inside, and they accept each other for who they really are.

My name is Raymundo. My free time I like to take pictures in my community. I think this was important by learning about this and how it happens and how it hurts familys, relatives, and more. I took this picture for Picturing Peace beacuse we were all at the YMCA together and we came together to learn something new about our community and how to make it stronger.
